The USB 3.0/SATA 2 Dual Hard Drive Docking Station (CDD3000) with standalone cloning supports offline duplication to copy all data and system files from one drive to another with the touch of a button — no PC connection required. Or connect to a PC to use the included software for flexibility in choosing what files to process. The compact dual bay docking station accepts both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard drives and enables read/write capabilities to both drives simultaneously via SuperSpeed USB 3.0 for exceptionally fast data transfer.

Note: The Target drive must be bigger in size than the Source drive.

  We love USB3 for its bandwidth, which is faster than a magnetic hard disk can fill, so when we learned about the Cirago dual drive USB3 dock we asked to review it. When plugged into a USB3 port, the PC gets access to any docked drive that's as fast as an internal drive but there's also a happy surprise: you don't need a PC to get it to clone one drive to another. With no USB3 connection, push a button to clone the drive in the "A" dock onto the drive in the "B" dock, all handled automatically with a LED bar graph displaying its progress. Its power supply delivers 4A@12V so the drives won't starve. The drive ports are SATA II so they're compatible with SATA I to III; the drive's read/write speed is more likely to be a bottleneck than the dock. Bottom line: the Cirago dual drive USB3 dock is not only an excellent way to add another drive or two to what a PC can see, it's also a very handy standalone drive cloner.
